One of the best local bars in Santa Monica. This place has one of, if not the best, scotch and whiskey selections in all of Los Angeles. You can get flights or choose from the massive list, or just browse the bottles above the bar. The bar staff can suggest things, of course. Off the beaten path makes it a great place for locals. It's cozy and there are two separate areas, one for shuffleboard, pool and sometimes karaoke, and the other side, just a long bar with barstools and a wall with a ledge for your beer or scotch.

This is a very low key beer bar that has an incredible list of ales, without the yuppie vibe of Fathers Office or 3rd stop. There is rarely a line, and it is a good mix of people that is relatively low in meatheads. The people are very friendly and attitude free, and seem to be a nice mix of old school Santa Monica residents and young folks. Plus, they owner is cool and really knows his beer, going so far as to offer cask ales. This place is as perfect as a bar can get.
